[1] RSM 석사 프로그램 지원 여정 - 장학금 발표 | RSM Master's Program Application Journey - Scholarship

네덜란드 RSM에 장학금 지원 레터를 포함한 석사 지원 서류들을 처음 넣었을 때가 작년 10월 초쯤이었던 걸로 기억하는데, 한 2주 뒤 10월 중순이었나 말쯤에 조건부 합격증을 받았고, 그로부터 약 6개월 후인 오늘 드디어 장학금 수혜 여부 발표가 났다.

 

* 여기서 조건부 합격이란, 입학 요건 중 일부가 미충족일 경우 받게 되는 합격증이다. 즉, 지원 당시 미충족인 요건들을 8월 31일까지 충족시킨다는 조건 하에 합격증을 부여하는 것이다. 나의 최종 합격 조건들을 학기 시작 전까지 충족시키지 못할 경우는 당연히 탈락인 것이다. 그렇기 때문에 조건부 합격증만 가지고는 완전히 합격했다고 말할 수 없다.

 

I remember it was early October when I first submitted the application documents including a scholarship application letter for a master's program at RSM in the Netherlands, and I got a conditional offer in mid or late October. After six months has passed, today the RSM Scholarship Committee sent me the result about whether I'll get a scholarship or not.

 

* What is a conditional offer?

: A conditional offer is an offer that you get when you haven't met some of the admission requirements yet. That is, you get an offer under the condition that you will meet all the requirements by the 31st of August before an academic year starts. You can't be fully accepted to the university if you fail to do so. So, you can't say that you've got fully accepted only with a conditional offer.

 

나는 지원 당시 아직 학사를 졸업하지 않은 상태였기 때문에 졸업 후 졸업증명서와 최종성적표를 제출하는 조건으로 조건부 합격증을 받았다. At the time when I applied to a master's program, I was still a bachelor student, so I got an offer with a condition that I have to submit my bachelor's diploma and the final transcript.

어쨌든 장학금 받는 데는 성공했다. 비유럽권 학생으로서 등록금도 너무 비싸고(1년에 약 20,700유로.. 한화로 약 2,750만원..) 그냥 해외생활 자체가 돈이 너무 많이 들어서 걱정을 많이 했는데, 장학생으로 선정되었다는 소식을 듣게 되어서 다행이다.

 

내가 받게 된 장학금은 Erasmus University Holland Scholarship인데, 네덜란드 정부 교육문화과학부(?)랑 에라스무스 로테르담 대학이 함께 제공하는 장학금이라고 한다. (사실 RSM Non-EEA Scholarship of Excellence가 금액이 조금 더 커서 그걸 받고 싶었는데, 조금 아쉽지만 그래도 기분은 당연히 좋다.)

 

Anyway, I have successfully chosen as a scholarship awardee. I was actually really worried about studying abroad in the Netherlands because as a student with a non-EEA nationality the tuition is too expensive(it's about €20,700 per year..) and studying abroad itself costs too much. But, it's really happy to hear the good news.

 

The scholarship that I'm going to get is called Erasmus University Holland Scholarship, which is a scholarship that is financed by the Dutch Ministry of Eduation, Culture and Science and Erasmus University Rotterdam. (To be honest, I wanted to receive RSM Non-EEA Scholarship of Excellence due to the higher amount of money haha.. but of course, I'm so happy and proud of myself.)

2022/2023학년도 RSM 석사 지원생 기준으로 Erasmus University Holland Scholarship에 대해 약간의 설명을 하자면, (아래의 내용은 RSM 장학금 홈페이지에 자세히 안내되어 있다.)

 

1. 장학금액: 12개월 간 10,000유로

 

2. 지급 방법: 등록금 전액을 먼저 지불한 뒤 10번에 걸쳐 분할 지급

 

3. 지원 가능 대상:

 

• 비유럽권(non-EEA) 국적 소지자
• 2022/2023학년도 입학 예정자
• RSM 풀타임 석사 프로그램 지원자
• 지원하는 프로그램의 입학 요건을 충족한 사람
• 네덜란드 교육기관에서 받은 학위를 소지하지 않은 사람 (교환학생 제외)

4. 장학금 수혜자 선발 기준: GMAT과 공인영어성적을 포함한 모든 입학 요건을 충족한 석사 프로그램 입학 예정자 중에서 선발

 

5. 장학금 수혜 시 조건:

 

• 1년 간 학교를 다니면서 매달 약 5-10시간 정도 RSM 입학처에서 학생 홍보대사로서의 역할을 수행해야 한다.
• 2022년 6월 1일 전에 비자 신청 과정을 시작해야 한다.

6. 지원 방법

: Online Application Form(OLAF)을 통한 석사 프로그램 지원 시, 장학금 지원도 같이 하면 된다. 필요 서류는 두 가지인데, 1) 장학금 지원 레터, 2) 예산 플랜 이렇게 제출하면 된다. 지원 레터는 해당 지원자에게 장학금이 왜 필요한지(현재 재정 상황 및 환경)와 RSM이 왜 해당 지원자에게 장학금을 지급해야 하는지(본인의 학업적 우수성과 기타 강점들)의 두 가지 포인트를 염두에 두고 작성하면 된다. 예산 플랜은 RSM 장학금 홈페이지에 들어가면 템플릿이 있으니 그 템플릿에 작성 후 제출하면 된다.

 

7. 지원 시기

 

• 모든 석사 프로그램(MSc International Management/CEMS 제외): 2022년 2월 1일까지 장학금 지원
• MSc International Management/CEMS: 2022년 1월 31일까지 장학금 지원

 

8. 수혜 여부 발표: 2022년 4월 15일
